Getaneh Baye wurde am 31. Oktober 1989 in Gondar, Äthiopien, geboren. Er absolvierte 2008 ein medizinisches Labor am Debretabor Health Science College und 2016 einen BSC in Krankenpflege an der Debre Berhan University. Er ist Lehrbeauftragter an der Debre Berhan University und MSC-Student für Kinderheilkunde und Kinderkrankenpflege an der Addiss Ababa University.
