Autorenporträt
Born in East London, Ny M Jones is the middle child of a large family. In 2006, after finishing studies in Psychology, Media, English Literature and a desire to be a Dentist, a brief period of unemployment would find her securing her first role and the start of a lengthy career in Learning and Development. Despite the extreme career change, it is here that Ny developed an even greater passion for helping and influences others, and learnt the power within her ability to creatively adapt every day scenarios in order to contextualise information for different audiences. After the birth of her first child in 2009 she opted for a more "greener" setting to grow her family. With aspirations to still achieve Ny returned back to work when he was 1 year's old, securing herself a role as one of the youngest Training Managers covering over 50% of the London Boroughs. After reaching various levels of success in her role, a change in government funding would leave Ny transferring to a lesser role, subsequently followed by a range of unfulfilling jobs. On the 11th Feb 2016, a breakfast morning show had announced a competition for the "Next Big Children's Author" with a very attractive prize, at the time only requesting a manuscript. The journey to work that proceeded would see the birth of her first title "Dressed in Peace". However, after reviewing the terms and conditions, Ny was not willing to hand over the rights to her new baby. For almost a year she would contact and search illustrators, but none seemed to fit the tone of the book and those that could were far beyond her budget. For over a year the pages sat in the draw of her home study. In 2017 Ny welcomed the arrival of her second child. It was then she began to utilise the time that had become available to her to self-illustrate. 96 images later, a lot of Youtube videos, blog forums and sleepless nights. She is honoured to share the first of many books to come.
