Nurses have fourfold responsibilities:to promote health, prevent illness, restore health and alleviate sufferings.In rendering holistic care, the physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual dimension of patient is addressed. The spiritual dimension however is frequently overlooked by the health care giver. This study was conducted to identify the involvement of nurses in the provision of spiritual care to patients at East Avenue Medical Center and its implication to holistic care.It provided also the patients perception to spiritual care rendered by the nurses.It supplied information on the hindrances encountered in providing the spiritual care and possible solutions offered by the respondents to help in solving the problems.

Sofia Magdalena N. Robles worked as a nurse at EAMC, Philippines for 10 years. At present,she is a Clinical Instructor at CEU,Manila and takes her PhD in Nursing at SPUM. She earned her Masteral in Nursing at MCU and BS in Nursing at University of St. La Salle-Bacolod. As a former Young Professed of RSCJ, deepens her love to God through service.
