Autorenporträt

Sonja de Vries is a queer poet and social justice activist, living in Louisville, Kentucky. She is also an avid photographer. De Vries works as a freelance facilitator of poetry for empowerment and healing with Veterans, Youth and Others as well as teaching and stocking groceries at her local Kroger. Her previous work includes Planting A Garden In Baghdad and Stealing Lorca's Bones, published by Finishing Line Press. In addition to her work as a writer, De Vries directed several award winning documentaries which have aired on PBS, including Gay Cuba and Out: The Making of A Revolutionary.
