Autorenporträt
Sophie is an open transgender woman (MTF - male to female), who has been living authentically for many years now. Sophie earned a B.A. degree in Mathematics from EIU, where she received the Estelle Ruth O'Brien Mathematics Scholarship and was inducted into the Mathematics Honorary Society, Kappa Mu Epsilon. Since 2017, Sophie has been speaking to students and professionals at various state & national conferences, staff (training) meetings, college classrooms, etc. Her concern is the access to public facilities for transgender individuals, patrons & employees alike. In 2020, Sophie began working with the IPRA Diversity Task Force and became an LGBTQIA+ "Safe Zone Conversation" facilitator, where her mission is to bring diversity, equity, & inclusion to businesses and communities. Her passion is to advocate and educate, so others will have a better life than she had.
