This study examines the effect of polymer fibers on mechanical properties of Alker in North Cyprus. The main aim of this research to determine if polymer fiber (Polypropylene PP) enhances the mechanical properties of Alker. Two soils samples were taken from two different places in North Cyprus (Taskent and Haspolat) and subjected to a 28 days test while varying the amount of marble dust and polymer fiber. The soils samples were then tested to determine their mechanical and physical properties. Their obtained compressive strengths were then compared with the control one. The results showed that the produced adobe samples are stonger than Alker. The results also showed clay samples taken from Taskent and Haspolat areas are much stronger than other soil mixtures when mixed with marble dust and polymer fibres. Key words: Polymer Fiber (Polypropylene PP), Marble Dust, Alker, Compressive Strenght.
