Sadhvi Ramya Darshana Shriji (originally known as Rita Chandulal Kothari) was born in Mumbai in an elite Jain family. Since childhood, she would actively participate in all the religious activities and always expressed deep interest in gaining knowledge in Jainism. By the time she had graduated from college, she had made up her mind to pursue another "higher life". She then decided to gain expertise in Sanskrit and Jainism, and learning never stopped there. At a young age of 30, she decided to renounce the worldly and materialistic life to adopt an ascetic one. In her first book, "Savour of the Soul", she has tried to spread her proficient knowledge to make the people aware of the actual meaning and elements of life.
