In view of increasing risk factors of human to various deadly diseases, there has been a global trend toward the use of natural substance present in medicinal plants and dietary plats as therapeutic antioxidants. Coordinated research involving biomedical scientists, nutritionists and physicians can make significant difference to human health in the coming decades. Research on free radicals and antioxidants involving these is one such effort in the right direction. The field of free radical research is undergoing a tremendous advancement in recent years. Here we present some of the interesting areas of current research and some novel observations pertaining to free radicals and antioxidants in relation to human health.

Dr. Upal Kanti Mazumder has 39 years of research and 37 years of teaching experience. Dr. Mazumder has guided 43 Ph.D and 48 dissertation thesis.
