This publication deals with the application of soil survey and classification system on some Iraqi soils representing different climatic conditions in order to show the gensis and the classification status for the dominante soils.The results of the morphological,physical and chemical properties for the selected soils indicate some differences between the studied soils with in the two different regions.The studied soils were classified as Argixeroll,Hapolcambids and calciargids.

Ahmad S Muhaimeed ,received B.S degree in Soil Science from Baghdad University and M.S in Soil Survey and Classification from the University of Nebraska ¿Lincoln, USA. Have Ph.D. in Soil Survey from Colorado State University, USA .Currently , working as an professor of soil survey and land management in the Department of Soil Sciences ,Baghdad,Iraq
