This monograph is devoted to a communicative approach to language teaching, based on reading and writing competencies, and to highlight the techniques that dominate the study of any foreign language. This monograph can be used in the teaching of subjects such as intercultural communication, interpersonal communication and speech culture. As we know communicative approach as a learner-centered approach plays a pivotal role in improving students' language skills in EFL classes and helps them how to use the language in real social life. Implementation of pre-, while, post reading and writing activities in teaching languages improves not only students' language skills, but also their creative and critical skills, as well as their linguistic, socio-linguistic, pragmatic and strategic competences. Moreover, they give motivation to learn and use language in real situation and help to develop pair work and group work skills. The importance of cultural awareness and the stages of culture shock through development of communicative, linguistic, pragmatic and socio-linguistic competences of students, especially integrating all the four skills were introduced.
