This book aims to develop and implement a flexible OFDM based communication system using an available SDR platform. It is intended to demonstrate that the flexibility offered by this system, can at a later stage be used to exploit knowledge of the channel as a form of physical layer security. This work is structured as follows. An overview of the system model illustrating the main goal and primary motivation behind this work is provided. In the second chapter, some of the basic theoretical concepts of OFDM, and an introduction to the SDR environment are discussed. In the third chapter, the experimental setup, the implementation of the OFDM based system, and some related measurements are discussed. Towards the end, some measurement results are presented and the work is summarized by providing some conclusions, after which some directions for future research are suggested.
