I have played Estonian bagpipe for 14 years and learned throughly its tradition after old archive recordings. When I heard Anders Norudde CD "Kan Sjalv" I was astonished by his "sackpipa" playing (sackpipa - Swedish bagpipe). He is one of the few bagpipers I like to listen to, beacuse there is so much energy and playfulness in his music. I decided to look deeper into his playing technique and style. Sandra Sillamaa is an accomplished player of Estonian bagpipes, different traditional wind instruments and sopranosaxophone. She has studied at the Royal Music Academy in Stockholm and at the Tartu University Viljandi Culture Academy. At the moment she belongs to folk music groups Paabel and Ro:toro. www.sandrasillamaa.com
