Produktbeschreibung
This book provides non-timber use of as many as 189 plants species, a systematic discourse of which has been prepared along with a comprehensive key to the identification of families. Regarding genera and species keys have been provided wherever necessary. The systematic account of these species given in this work includes local and family names, followed by a precise description (phytography), photographs, information about flowering and fruiting periods, field notes, distribution, medicinal- and non-medicinal uses from primary (tribal) sources, and observation on use of NTFPs. Information about medicinal uses have been further enriched using secondary sources (literature) to augment further researches on medicinal plants of the area, validation of their efficacy and identification of medicinally active principles for development of novel medicines. This book also aims to assess the dependency of the forest dwellers on NTFPs and to formulate strategies for integrating sustainable use of NTFPs of the area with forest conservation and economic welfare of the concerned tribals.
