Do you need encouragement, hope, wisdom, and a splash of joy? Do you want to hear from God's heart? Do you know how much you are worth to Him, or what His will is for you? This devotional will help the reader to recognize and to accept God's abundant blessings; blessings that He continually pours out on us, even when life is hard. Within these pages we learn to let go of the mistakes we have made in our past; to open our arms wide, as well as our life, and to receive the wonderful future our Heavenly Father has always wanted for us. This devotional promotes the surrendering of our lives to God, to living a full life in grace and freedom, all through leaning close to Jesus through the reading of Scripture, and through prayer. "Arms Wide Open" contains: • 91 short devotionals, so that even if you are time poor, you can become spiritually rich. Each devotional consists of: - A bible scripture verse. - Relatable and down to earth commentary. This devotional has been written to be a blessing, specifically for those who are time poor, but who long to be spiritually rich. It is a uniquely practical way to be encouraged by God's promises, promises of hope, comfort, joy, truth & wisdom. There are also a few challenges along the way for the reader to contemplate. Sarah's writing is quirky, relatable, and down to earth. In her own words, you will discover a place where you get to see Scripture applied to the "ups and downs" of real life. Through this journey with Sarah, you will get to see mistakes made, lessons learned, and even other lessons whose wisdom is yet to be acquired. Most importantly, you will get to see how Jesus changes lives, and how He gives hope, comfort, and joy, within the most difficult of circumstances. Finally, you will witness Sarah's own personal journey; of faithful vulnerability - sometimes clinging to Jesus for dear life, and sometimes soaring triumphantly on the wings of a mighty move of God.
Autorenporträt
Sarah is a pastor's wife, a mother, and an ""Oma"" to four adorable grandchildren. Sarah, and her husband Chris, are blessed to minister to one of the oldest known indigenous aboriginal cultures in the world. They also journey long distances to visit isolated farmers in the harsh Australian outback, people who often endure weeks, months, and sometimes even years of unpredictable weather, flooding, drought, and fire. For many years Sarah was a school chaplain in Queensland's secular state schools. She trained and worked in the mental health and community services sector, where she ministered to families in the often forgotten, or marginalised, parts of society. Sarah is originally from Christchurch, New Zealand. After many ""ups and downs"" as a single young mother, Sarah met and married the love of her life, Chris. A few years later they sold their seaside cottage in New Zealand, and moved, by faith, to the city of Cincinnati, in the USA, where her husband attended a Christian university to complete his Masters degree. After living in the USA, God called them to Australia, and into congregational church ministry. Sarah and her family have lived in a wide variety of places and settings; on rural sheep farms, in stunning coastal cottages, and in bustling city apartments. Today you will now find them at home in the beautiful far north of Queensland, Australia, where you will often find them ministering in local churches, or ""camping"" in remote places in far North Queensland. This is the space where they share the good news of the gospel, and share the story of how Jesus gives us peace, blessings, and especially hope in these uncertain times. Sometimes, as can often happen in the remote bushland of Australia, you may find them attending to the unexpected God-appointed meetings with one or two strangers; strangers who will often become friends, all while pulling up a chair to have a chat, and to enjoy the campfire.
