This study was an attempt based on scientific investigation, to find out the fact that teachers' qualities are necessary for the enhancement of students' achievement in Life Science subject. It has made certain contributions to this important fact that competent teachers with teaching effectiveness are necessary for enhancing the students' achievement. It is the investigators hope that this study would be reflected to educators, teachers, parents and the students. It is hoped that the researchers in future shall be encouraged to undertake further follow up work in these areas to improve the student achievement.

Dr. Sarmila Banerjee has done her M.A.(Edu.)with 1st class and PhD in Education from Visva- Bharati, a Central University at Santineketan, W.B. She has presented papers in National and International Seminars,published in different reputed journals. She is at present holding a position as Principal in a B.Ed College(under Burdwan Univ.).
