Autorenporträt
This compilation of prose and poetry offers glimpses of an era when the AGHS was still a colonial institution for educating young ladies. A number of alumni from that era weave tales of those times: their sometimes humorous encounters with teachers and fellow students, their ambitions, their hopes and their fears. Included also are a few poems and prayers as well as personal and group photographs of their years at the AGHS. This collection of writings is by no means a historical account. The stories are anecdotal and personal. Readers may perceive some characterization of events described in a story or stories in quite a different light. Most of the contributors to this book are octogenarians. The love and respect for their alma mater is the strong bond that inspired them to compile this book of reminiscences. Today they dwell in different lands, ranging from the islands in the Caribbean Sea to the cold climes of North America to the ancestral lands of Africa.
