The content of the book comprises the energy auditing and optimization in paddy and wheat fields as the more demanded and strategic crops. During the assessing of the energy use pattern, different sources of used energy and consumption pattern for different field operations have been pinpointed. The main objective was to introduce the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) as a method for optimizing the energy in agricultural production systems. The subject of the book can be extended to other regions, even to different economic sectors.

The author got his Ph.D. in the field of agricultural engineering (major; Farm Power and Machinery, and minor; Processing and Food Engineering)from the PAU, Ludhiana, India in year 2007.Now, he is working at the department of Agicultural Engineering, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran as the assistant professor.
