The aim of this work is an attempt to diagnose pronunciation mistakes in English made by 12-13 year old Polish students and to eliminate mistakes and to form correct pronunciation through various exercises. This issue is described from the theoretical point of view and on the basis of a research conducted on the group of nine students of the primary school. This work consists of five chapters. The first of them characterises the guidelines of the Ministry of Education referring to the state of teaching English pronunciation in Polish school. Moreover, it presents Curricula, examples of textbooks and matters included in them referring to English pronunciation. The next chapter is devoted to advantages and disadvantages of teaching pronunciation to children. The third chapter presents an impact of language practice on English pronunciation. The next chapter reveals mistakes made by Polish learners of English such as mistakes referring to consonants, vowels and the word stress. The last chapter emphasizes the importance of teaching English pronunciation. The main aim of practical part was to diagnose nine pupils of the primary school and to improve their pronunciation mistakes.
