AbstractIntroduction: The problems of factors influencing child survival outcome cannot be overemphasized; as it relates to the understanding of how these factors influence the health of children. AbstractIntroduction: The problems of factors influencing child survival outcome cannot be overemphasized; as it relates to the understanding of how these factors influence the health of children. That's because the key global indicator of child health is measured through the under-5 mortality rate (U5MR), the probability of dying before 5 years of age (per 1000 live births), and one of the most important measures of global health. Previously targeted in the fourth Millennium Development Goal (MDG), U5MR now appears in the third Sustainable Development Goal (SDG3), aiming to reduce under-5 mortality to at least as low as 25 deaths per 1000 live births in all countries by 2030. Though the global U5MR dropped from 93 deaths per 1000 live births in 1990 to 39 in 2017, the highest rates are still seen in sub-Saharan Africa, with a U5MR of 76 deaths per 1000 live births in 2017, leading to 2.7 million deaths in the region (UNICEF, 2015). Objection: The overall purpose of the study is to examine the factors associated with child survival outcomes in the Republic of South Sudan.
