This book is about two famous, legendary and popular Hausa oral singers namely Alhaji (Dr) Adamu Danmaraya Jos and Alhaji (Dr) Mamman Shata Kastina. The singers share many things in common, such as composition of variety of songs on various themes and subjects. The two singers were both recipients of National Merit Awards of their country and Doctorate degree(Honors Causa) given to them by Nigerian Universities-University of Jos and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria respectively. What is uncommon to the two singers is their use of different Hausa musical instruments. While Danmaraya uses Kuntigi to complement his songs, Shatta uses Kalangu music. They have exceptionally been used to compose several advertisements songs for various products and services. The singers composed advertisement songs for such multinational companies and manufacturers as Parterson Zochonics and Nigerian Tobacco company and Philip Morris which where subsidiaries of British and American Tobacco company. It is the singular role of the singers serving as advertising agents that is discussed and exemplified in the book as an academic exercise for the benefits of students, scholars, researchers and general readers.
