Electronic health records (EHR) represent a modern system of recording patients' medical history in a more organized way, so that when a patient needs to be diagnosed or receive treatment for a disease, the history of their health condition can be accessed instantly by the care giver. Previously, the recording of a patient's medical history was done on paper. Moreover, protecting that data became very expensive and hazardous. However, the introduction of EHR made it easier and more cost effective to record and protect patient data and information. The aims of this book are to explore the adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) amongst physicians within the context of Saudi Arabia.
