Being in our sixties now would have probably been the time to sit down, relax, maybe travel a little, and enjoy the rest of our lives in retirement, as our Mothers would have. But we're NOT our mothers' Sixties! We have lived, loved, laughed, cried, succeeded, failed, gotten back up again, and we're still here! Whether we have married, divorced, been widowed, or single, we have raised our children, started our businesses, advanced in our careers, or just started over. Now is the time to tell our stories! We are the new 40s and 50s, just born a little sooner. Our lives are just beginning. We're starting over - in more ways than one. So, what does being sixty-ish look and feel like? I've been told that I don't look my age, and certainly don't act any differently. When I looked around me, I was in awe at my beautiful sisters in their sixties who have inspired me. I wanted to highlight Phenomenal women in this age group to give others approaching this milestone something to look forward to and to be proud of. I wanted to collaborate with them to tell their stories in this full color, coffee table book that could be passed on for generations to come. It is our time to shine! The idea of this Anthology book started with a few simple questions: Are you in your sixties, but everyone thinks you look much younger? Are you dynamic, successful, and living your passion? Do you have a story to tell that will inspire, motivate, and encourage other women? Do you have health and beauty secrets that are keeping you healthy and looking younger? With these questions in mind, I invited an array of amazing women to be a part of this project. Some of us are starting new relationships after being widowed, divorced, or just starting over. I, for one, have lost everything: My dream home, my business, my best friend, and eventually, my husband. I had to make a choice - either be swallowed up in a deep dark depression from a whirlwind of losses or decide to live the rest of my life to the fullest. I have chosen the latter. Why did I add the word "sexy" to the sixties? A lot of people would say that 'sexy' is about the body. But not me . . . I think that "sexy"' is a woman with confidence and power. Power is about loving yourself and having strength from within. So, even if you are not wearing a sexy outfit (that I put together), you still feel sexy. This book is written to encourage, inspire, and give women approaching, or already in this age group, something to look forward to. We are starting new careers, new businesses, finding love for the first, second, or third time, and enjoying life! We have made our mistakes and accomplishments and have learned from them all. Some of you will be astonished when I say that living never seemed so magnificent as it does now. In these pages, you will meet some Phenomenal, Confident and Beautiful Women in their Sixties, who will inspire you to be whatever you want to be, do whatever you want to do (legally), requiring permission from no one but yourself. Sexy Sixties is a state of mind, and that state of mind comes in all shapes and sizes. It is unique for every individual. You'll meet a doctor, a lawyer, speakers and writers, teachers and entrepreneurs, community leaders, sales executives and clergy, actors, singers, and models, all with one thing in common: We're Embracing Our Sexy Sixties!
