Ampicillin, Cephalexin and Amoxicillin were used as green corrosion inhibitors for pure aluminium as well as of two aluminium base alloys namely 5052 Al and 2021 Al in sodium chloride solution. Potentiostatic studies have been investigated for the corrosion process at various inhibitor concentrations over a temperature range 283-323 K.The result of electrochemical studies reveal that the corrosion current densities are increased with increasing temperature. On the other hand, corrosion current densities decreased with increasing the concentration of the inhibitors. The inhibition efficiency increases with increasing the concentrations of Ampicillin, Cephalexin and Amoxicillin inhibitors and decreases with increasing the temperature for the corrosion of pure Aluminium and its alloys studied in saline media. According to the values of the corrosion potential data,Ampicillin, Cephalexin and Amoxicillin acts as mixed type inhibitors. Thermodynamic data obtained for corrosion process indicates spontaneous and exothermic nature of corrosion. The general behavior for the kinetic studies depend on Arrhenius equation.
