This study focused on specific physical and social factors that have influence on the coastal vulnerability in the study area.The study area is located in the North eastern part of the Nile Delta, extending from Gamasa to the west to Ras El Barr to the east and for about 15 km in-land. Damietta Nile branch extends for about 20 km in the eastern part of the study area. The total area covered amount to about 407.56 km2.
