The extent to which political advertisements on television commodify politics is demonstrated in this book. Furthermore, the book explores the themes covered in the political advertisements on television and the extent to which these political advertisements focus on the images than the themes. In addition, the book also looks into the underlying issues and complexities, such as regulation and funding and financing issues, of political advertisements on television, which are generally hidden from the public glare.

Autorenporträt
Sibongile Sindane is a lecturer at the University of South Africa. Sindane has taught in Communication Science and Media Studies. She completed an honours degree in Media Studies in 2008 and an honours degree in International Relations in 2009. The work in this book is based on her Masters degree which she completed in 2010 at Wits University.
