South Asia is a region with abundant water during the monsoon when floods occur, often very devastating and by scarcity of water and droughts during the dry period. Exploring the ways in which agriculture and other key economic sectors suffer during these events, this book addresses the most pressing water resource issues in South Asia, particularly in relation to climate change and variability. It examines the results of climate and hydrologic models that indicate the possibility of increased vulnerability under climate change scenarios and the design of adaptation measures that can be implemented under a policy framework that includes active participation of the stakeholders.
