HE THOUGHT IT COULD NEVER HAPPEN TO HIM. But it did. Jeff Blaisdell was a selfless, loving, and dedicated pastor of a good church. Though his work was demanding it was also satisfying. He just knew that if he remained faithful to his faith, true to the Bible and committed to his task, his God would protect him from false attacks and preserve his good name. But one day, with no warning, Jeff Blaisdell found out he was wrong. The door to the very pit opened before him and threatened total destruction. And everything he had ever believed began to crumble. This is a story of devotion and deceit; of trust and betrayal: an account of the appearance of the face of genuine evil . . . all in the setting where we would expect it least: the warm arms of a seemingly loving church congregation. Marriages are put to excruciating tests; families are torn and divided; and steadfast relationships are destroyed. This is also a story of hope and survival . . . but an escape which leaves no one involved unscarred. Can sincere faith endure the worst assault of evil? Maybe. Will the pastor and his marriage survive? Possibly. What about his children? Read The Years the Locust Hath Eaten and find out.

Autorenporträt
Spencer Stuart, a pastor since age fifteen, knows the joys and heartbreak of church life. He has served both large city and tiny rural congregations. He has seen life from the inside and outside of the church as a college professor, counselor, rodeo chaplain and truck driver. He has been a mentor to many young ministers. His experiences, good and bad, have left him with a genuine but realistic love for the church. Stuart and his wife reside on their family farm in the Midwest where they raise beef cattle and ride fine horses. They have two grown children and three grandchildren.
