This book comprises of three chapters. First two chapters delineates the variations of lipid structures in liposomal gene delivery and the third one deals with the novel therapeutic application of liposomes. Chapter-1 delineates the dramatic influence of amide linker between hydrophilic and hydrophobic lipid moiety in liposomal gene delivery, provides the first example of linker orientation under systemic settings and explains the developement of potent lung transfection reagent. Chapter-2 delineates an hitherto unexplored structure-activity issue namely, Cationic glycolipids with cyclic and open galactose head groups for the selective targeting of genes to mouse liver. the relative in vitro and in vivo efficacies of cationic glycolipids were evaluated. Chapter-3 delineates the therapeutic potential of pegylated cationic liposomal formulation of rhBNP in congestive heart failure.
