In this book a serious effort was made to propose apposite test specimen geometry and test method for determining the Mode II fracture properties of SFRC. The important fracture parameters like shear strength, fracture energy, fracture toughness and toughness indices were also studied. Meanwhile, another attempt was also made to find the ratio of Mode II to Mode I fracture energy. The effect of partial replacement of cement either with silica fume or granite powder on fracture properties of SFRC and latex modified SFRC under Mode II loading was also studied.

He obtained his B.E from Nagarjuna University, M.Tech from REC Surathkal, Ph.D from JNTU Hyderabad.Dr Appa Rao is currently working as a Professor in IIT Chennai.He obtained his B.E from Andhra University, M.Tech & Ph.D from IISC Bangalore.
