Autorenporträt
Stacey Daniel was born in Melbourne, Australia. She always enjoyed writing as a form of expression and dreamt of one day writing a book to prompt deep thoughts and enrich discussions. Stacey holds engineering and business qualifications and has worked across a range of industries and sectors on sites of both state and national significance. After graduating university, her early work was in the mining industry in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. Following on from this, she worked in local government in Victoria and, later, consulting nationally before starting her own business. A natural educator and guide, Stacey has a passion for making things better and likes to create the best out of everything. During university she took up a sports coaching role (instead of doing the sport herself) due to the greater sense of satisfaction in helping others achieve their goals. After university, Stacey was inspired by the opportunity of one day becoming a non-executive director on a board, to contribute to good decision-making and generating sustainable outcomes. Stacey has served on statutory authority boards, a peak industry board, and not-for-profit and community boards. At the age of thirty and very pregnant with her first child, Stacey was appointed to her first board role. Fifteen years later, she is sitting on her tenth board/committee, having accumulated around eighteen years of combined board work. She continues to serve and contribute as a member on various assessment and judging panels. Adventures of all sorts form part of Stacey's life. Before children, she travelled overseas throughout Europe, Asia, America, Canada and New Zealand to experience the world. Yet the most transformational journey of them all was becoming a parent to two children and extensively exploring Australia with her young family. As an entrepreneur, Stacey now focuses her energy on helping others as a Board specialist. She established her business Board Presence to support boards, committees, directors, and executives with better decisions for a better future. Fly to the Boardroom is Stacey's first book. She continuously strives to help others, drive positive change and deliver great results.
