"Gabrielle first wrote this story as a college assignment at SUNY Oneonta. Little did she know that this beautiful story would be shared with an even greater audience. Now as a first grade special educator, she hopes that this tale teaches children about love and acceptance. Stacey has been a Speech and Language provider with the New York City Board of Education for the past 34 years. She had searched in vain for a teaching tool about tolerance and acceptance for quite some time, but when she shared her daughter's story with the diverse population around her, she discovered it had a powerful positive impact. She later went on to produce it as a play and was thrilled when her co-worker, Maria, brought Gary Green to life as a pillow."
