The Topics were carefully selected to provide a broad but concise overview of contemporary themes and understanding of the field. Basic concepts of human molecular biology and genetics are followed by a description and evaluation of the most commonly used analytical methods. This background is followed by an introduction to acquired genetic abnormalities underpinning various human malignancies. Discussions on pharmacogenetics and identity testing, and the application of molecular methods to the detection of viral pathogens including SARS-CoV-2, have been well illustrated. It is my hope that this book will help navigate the complex field of human molecular pathology.

Stanley Moffatt is a distinguished scholar in Virology, Molecular Pathology and Nanomedicine, and currently a Professor at Regent University College of Science and Technology. He received his doctoral training in Molecular Pathology and research Fellowships in Pathobiology (Purdue University, USA), and Viral Gene Therapy (University of Texas, USA).
