As a full industrial reference, the book provides essential information for the application of absorption chiller in a tropical setting. It has everything from the development of absorption cycle model, to its characteristic performance, to exergetic analysis, to development of a set of cost model necessary for optimal operation of the system as an integrated part-load. The absorption process consists of working fluids that are circulated in close cycle at steady state and four basic process flow conditions are necessary, namely: · Adiabatic mixing of binary mixture · Mixing of two streams with heat exchange, throttling · Simple heating and · Cooling processes. The operations of absorption systems impact positively on the society. They are helpful to the society in the following perspectives: · Attainment of food security through preservation of produce · Improvement of industrial productivity due to ensured comfort · Providing friendly environment through reduced emissions · Constitute productive uses of energy according to Millennium Development Goals, MDGs aspirations. These are vital recipe for sustainable development, particularly in remote rural tropics.
