Nanoscience, in simple words, is the study of phenomenon and manipulation of materials at atomic, molecular and macromolecular scales, while nanotechnology can be defined as design, characterization, production and application of structure, articulation of devices and systems by controlling shape and size at nanometer scale'. Scientifically nanotechnology encompasses the production and application of physical, chemical, and biological systems at scales ranging from individual atoms or molecules to submicron dimensions, as well as the integration of the resulting nanostructures into larger systems. The discovery of novel materials, processes, and phenomena at the nanoscale, as well as the development of new experimental and theoretical techniques provide research fresh opportunities for the development of innovative nanosystems and nanostructured materials.
