Abundance and distribution of large mammals of the Bakossi Landscape, South West Region, Cameroon was carried out in three protected Areas of the Bakossi Landscape area to bring out the distribution, abundance and evaluate the human impact on large mammals. The line transect method, direct observations and indirect bio indicators, as well as direct observation of human activities were used to determine the relative density of large mammals and human activities respectively. Results indicated that 10 species of large mammals were present in the Bakossi Landscape. Large mammals are remarkably present in the Bakossi Landscape Area. These species are of economic importance to the local community and the entire nation. Therefore the government, local population, animal biologists and conservationists who have a vested interest in large mammals have a major role to play in protecting these species.

He holds a PhD in Environmental resources Management obtained in 2006 from Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus, Germany. He is at moment the Head of Department of Fundamental Science at HTTTC Bambili of The University of Bamenda - Cameroon.
