The present investigation in mungbean was undertaken with a view to estimate G x E interaction for seed yield and its components and to assess the seed yield potential of different genotypes of mungbean under different sowing dates and to identify genotypes suitable for different predictable environments. G×E interaction were significant for days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, plant height, clusters per plant, pods per plant, seeds per pod and seed yield per plot when tested against pooled error, while 100 seed weight and seed yield per plant were highly significant when tested against…mehr

The present investigation in mungbean was undertaken with a view to estimate G x E interaction for seed yield and its components and to assess the seed yield potential of different genotypes of mungbean under different sowing dates and to identify genotypes suitable for different predictable environments. G×E interaction were significant for days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, plant height, clusters per plant, pods per plant, seeds per pod and seed yield per plot when tested against pooled error, while 100 seed weight and seed yield per plant were highly significant when tested against pooled deviation and pooled error. Linear component of G X E interaction was found significant for the characters viz., days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, plant height (cm), clusters per plant, 100 seed weight (g), seed yield per plant (g) and seed yield per plot (kg). Estimates of environmental indices (Ij) suggested that E1 environment i.e. sowing on 20th June was found to be most favourable for the seed yield and important yield contributing characters. Yield performance on hectare basis, the genotypes PKV-AKM-4, AKM-9911, PM-2 and Vaibhav would be suitable for different environments.
