Autorenporträt
Powella Samson is a behavior therapist with several years of both local and international work experience who enjoys sharing health, motivational, and success tips, and that is exactly what he did in Reclaim Your Headspace. He has a Bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. Powella uses the techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis in conjunction with psychotherapy to provide a well-rounded and evidence-based treatment to clients with behavioral or mental health issues. He hopes to continue to explore the fields of psychology and education and obtain more credentials in the future so as to continue to bridge the lingering gap that exists between society, education, and mental health. Powella has a knack for helping and uniting people and providing useful tips to those struggling with everyday life challenges. He was one of the 2017 Peace Jam mentors at the Florida State University's Center for Leadership & Social Change, headlined by Shirin Ebadi─ (a former judge and human rights activist and founder of Defenders of Human Rights Center in Iran and a 2003 Nobel Peace Prize winner), where he served as a mentor to twelve Bainbridge, Georgia, high school students. Powella worked as a behavior tutor/therapist at the Psychology Center for Growth and Development, Thomasville, Georgia, and Coastal Learning and Behavioral Center, San Francisco, California before joining the U.S Army in 2019 to check off one of his wildest bucket list items. He has participated in several Nonviolent communication programs and was nominated and awarded the Peacemaker Award based on his contributions to furthering world peace and for being an outstanding Ambassador for peace to the community of Thomasville, Georgia. In Powella's honor, a brick commemorating the award was placed in the Peacemaker Circle next to Balfour Chapel, Thomas University joining bricks honoring previous Peacemaker Award recipients. Powella Enjoys writing, volunteering, reading, traveling, exploring different cultures and foods, and meeting new people.
