Suicide is the second most common cause of death among age group of 15-29 in India. This calls in for urgent predication, identification and intervention of adolescents who are at risk for suicide. Schools and colleges are logical locations to identify and educate potentially at-risk adolescents. This book is one of the approaches of school based primary suicide prevention. This may help to dispel myths, increase knowledge promote case finding, provide students with information about mental health resources, encourage them with life skills educations for interpersonal and social competency. Along with providing prevention strategies, it also provides information on community resources in the city and country (e.g. hotlines and help lines, crisis intervention centers and hospitals that deal with counseling and helping students.)
