Award-winning essayist and author Patricia Esperon has just published her first children's book. She holds her bachelor's degree in psychology and is currently in the process of earning her master's degree in counseling. She is also working towards her certificate in horticultural therapy. She will counsel individuals in a garden or greenhouse setting when she has completed her degree. Additionally, she enjoys teaching gardening and nutrition which she will continue to do as well. (new paragraph) Patricia enjoys writing and reading. She lives in the Vail Valley of Colorado with her family where she enjoys engaging in outdoor athletic activities when she is not immersed in gardening. Originally from Peoria, Illinois, she still feels connected to her Midwestern roots. (new paragraph) Her children's stories are diverse but tend to emphasize overcoming obstacles. Other themes are cultivating diversity and an appreciation for individual differences. Some of her books address feelings or promote an understanding of the natural environment. Above all Patricia wants her readers to be inspired to "Keep on the sunny side of life!"
