"There I go again, not doing what I want to do and, instead, doing what I don't want to do. What kind of Christian am I, anyway? Even more: "Who am I, anyway?" Sound familiar? You're not alone. Many Christians, perhaps most, have wondered the same thing. Glorified Rubble: Rebuilding the True You (The You God Intended in the First Place) is the journey of a man who spent years after he became a Christian wondering it about himself, feeling trapped in a sin he didn't want nor how to get out of. A sin most of the church didn't want to address, except to condemn. A sin that made him feel like a second-class citizen, separate from other Christians. But the man knew he was saved and he loved Jesus. Finally determined to break free of the trap, he turned to the Holy Spirit to teach him directly from scripture how to overcome sin as a Christian. To his amazement, he discovered core biblical truths that applied to him and all Christians - core biblical truths much of the church has lost sight of and are shrouded by secular ideas and language. Glorified Rubble: Rebuilding the True You (The You God Intended in the First Place) is more than a man learning how to overcome sin in his life. It's a clarion call to every pastor, church leader - every Christian - to return to core biblical truths: the systematic unfolding of the Word of God from Genesis through Revelation. The need to replace making church goers with making disciples! A Reformation!

To his friends, Patrick was the model Christian and successful in life. Few knew that, at age 15, he suffered an emotional breakdown, the after-effect of a sexual encounter with an adult man; Patrick was fourteen. A former A and B student, within months after the encounter, Patrick began getting D's and F's instead, graduating the third-lowest in his class. With his becoming a Christian at twenty, God restored Patrick's shattered and broken life. Professionally, he earned a bachelor's and two graduate degrees in education and one in counseling, served as a teacher, guidance counselor, principal, and an administrator. His Christian itinerary also was impressive. During his undergraduate years, he served as a student leader with a college ministry. In addition to a career in education, he worked as a fund-raising writer for two internationally-known Christian organizations. He sang on praise teams and with choirs as a soloist, hosted and led Bible studies and home groups. And underneath it all was something he didn't understand why it was there or want, sexual attraction to other men. Though he believed the Bible is God's inerrant word, and it teaches that homosexuality is sin, it didn't stop the torment of being trapped by something he didn't want and didn't know how to get out of. And he hid it well. Glorified Rubble: Rebuilding the True You (The You God Intended in the First Place) chronicles Patrick's long and painful journey trying to understand why he was attracted to men and how to handle it biblically. It ended when he decided to look directly to the Holy Spirit to teach him from scripture. Unexpectedly, Patrick learned what applies to him applies to all Christians and he is excited to share it - which makes Glorified Rubble: Rebuilding the True You (The You God Intended in the First Place) a book like no other.
