This work was a research project for the award of a Bachelors degree in Environmental conservation and Natural resources management in South Eastern Kenya University. The booklet is entitled 'An investigation of impacts of car wash activities on water quality a case study of Kaveta river in Kitui county Kenya'. I decided to embark on this research out of the day in day out car wash activities along the said stream which drains its water into Kalundu river few meters from where these detrimental activities were taking place. The site is just at the entrance of Kitui town which is the headquarters of Kitui county. This poses great threat to both the aesthetic conditions of the town and also the health of humans and the zooplankton. Three water samples were picked ( upstream, at the car wash site and down stream) and analysis conducted at The University of Nairobi laboratory, results analysed and it is against this background that the manuscript was written. This work is of imense importance to the scientists, researchers, public health departments among others. I hope you will enjoy going through the laboratory results yielded by the samples and the entire report.
