The story of a crazed man who talked to a dog that gave him orders to kill were the initial reports released to the public. As years passed, the story changed. Reports began to surface that claimed Berkowitz had not acted alone and was part of a satanic cult which included accomplices to these murders. Did David Berkowitz commit these crimes alone, or was he aided by members of this cult? In 1976, David Berkowitz moved to Yonkers, New York, my hometown, and left a tainted image of my city and its people. As a true Yonkers resident, I felt a sense of responsibility to seek out the truth. Determined to protect the reputation of my city, my church, and the people wrongfully accused, I relentlessly walked my streets of Yonkers to find the answers to what really happened with the "Son of Sam." This journal includes original ground work, real testimonies from people, real testimonies from victims, real testimonies from witnesses, real testimonies from law enforcement, police reports, police documents and original letters written by David Berkowitz.
