The present study analysed the socio economic status, perceptions of groundwater dependents and economy of groundwater market in the study villages to understand the prevailing scenario and status of peri urban groundwater system.

Packialakshmi obtained UG Degree in Civil Engineering at Bharathiar University, Tamil Nadu and she got distinction in her Post Graduation during 2005 in Water Resources Engineering and she got distinguished South Asian Water fellowship from Government of Netherlands to pursue her doctoral research during 2008-2011 at Anna University,Chennai.
