The purpose of this study was to examine anddescribe consultation under the system supportcomponent of the 2004 Texas Education Agency's (TEA)guidelines for a comprehensive guidance program asperceived by Texas rural school counselors andmeasured by the Counselor-Consultant Survey-Modified(CCS-M). The use of consultation by Texas ruralschool counselors was compared with the recommendedtime distribution of TEA's model. Relationshipsbetween the use of consultation with teachingexperience and use of consultation with counselingexperience were included in this study. Perceptionsof supervisor support of consultation weredescribed.
