The upgrading of higher education is determined by the promotion of the internal institutional framework of the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), the exploitation of the human factor, the restructuring of curricula and logistics and, in particular, the promotion of processes we provide work and feedback through these results. Strategic planning identifies as an action plan the entities of the organizations, the reason for their existence, the purposes they serve and their sustainability. In this research we will attempt to highlight the role and importance of strategic planning for HEIs. , in the Greek educational system, as part of the Study of Strategic Planning Case Studies of the Aegean and Thessaly Universities, in conjunction with an exploratory Study of Opinions, members of their academic public, to sketch the relationship between strategic planning and functionality ensuring the quality, development, offer and life of the University Foundation.
