The sun influences earth and its environment in a variety of ways. The disturbances in the earth and its environment arising as a consequence of solar influences are known as space weather effects and the study of cause-effect relationship between them is known as space weather. The space weather effects significantly affect the performance and reliability of the technological system both on ground and in space, as well as pose serious hazards to humans in space and on ground through intense radiations and energetic particles. Therefore, over past couple of decades serious efforts are made to develop techniques and schemes which will allow predicting the extreme space weather conditions well in advance. This will allow us to take necessary preventive measures to safeguard our technological system and humans. Although, some remarkable achievements have been made but still lot of challenges are faced. The development of reliable and accurate prediction tools require further comprehensive understanding of processes and advanced instrumentation for observation, to mitigate these challenges. With this view we have also made some studies and described these in this book.
