Autorenporträt
Magalí Herrera (1914-1992) was born in Rivera, Uruguay. Raised among a family of notables, she taught herself dance, theater, and photography, and organized poetry evenings. In addition to poems, she wrote science-fiction short stories, some of which have never been published. Around 1952, she began to paint occasionally, then took it up exclusively during the early 1960s, working day and night in a trance-like state.
