Author Pete Iussig is a retired middle school teacher of 38 years. He taught eighth grade social studies his entire career. During that time he also coached numerous sports, and in 2015, retired as the long-time varsity softball coach at Lowell (Indiana) High School. Pete came out of retirement and took the Crown Point (Indiana) High School Bulldogs to their first-ever state championship in 2017. He retired from coaching in 2019. Pete grew up in Merrilville, Indiana and graduated from Merrillville High School in 1973, where Mr. Webster also graduated from high school in 1970. Pete was Gary's friend for many years. Pete had always loved reading children's picture books to his daughter Isabella and now enjoys writing them himself. Mr. Webster, Rock Star Teacher, is his fifth children's book and a labor of love and friendship. Pete is graciously donating his proceeds from this book to the Gary Webster Young Musicians program. Illustrator IZI is a graduate from Valparaiso (Indiana) High School and currently a sophomore at Indiana University.
