The proposed research is unique in a way that it address cryptococcus and cryptococcosis in the setttings of Karnataka state with regard to the mycological, ecological and molecular epidemiology aspects.

Dr.Peralam Yegneswaran Prakash is Assistant Professor & Incharge Mycology Lab at Microbiology Department, KMC-Manipal University. He secured Summer fellowship 2008 from INSA-NASI-IAS. In 2009 he received Young Scientist Award from VGST, DST. At 36th MSI meeting he got Best Paper Award. He is elected as 'The Young ISHAM representative for India.
