Born and raised in New York City, I received a BA degree in French from Queens College in New York. Not finding much work with a degree in French, I went back to school to earn a degree in nursing. For nearly thirty years, while raising two wonderful sons, I worked as a registered nurse. The last twenty years of my career were as a school nurse in New York and Virginia working with students at every grade level from Pre-K through high school. When students would come to my clinic, I loved to ask them what they wanted to be when they grew up. The answers were often varied and funny. However, over time, it became apparent that too many children seemed indifferent or apathetic about their futures and would shrug their shoulders when asked that question. That is what inspired me to find an activity that would encourage children to explore the many options available to them. Thus came Wanna Bee Career Designs, which includes the I WANNA BEE Careers Activity and Coloring Book.
